Throughout this book, the author raises many questions about the stability and effectiveness of the U.S. government, and this book was a fast-paced, intense experience. It is perhaps the ultimate question of whether America’s democratic institutions can withstand another Trump presidency.

Glasser and Baker are superb writers. Their political leanings are obvious to the reader, but they’re actually quite subtle writers. Historical books need to be able to define historical events in that way. Politics memoirs – the first type – are not something I read unless I am sure the author is a good writer.
