The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue PDF Book Summary

This is a magical story that takes the reader through highs and lows as they follow the story of Addie LaRue, a fiercely independent young woman who refuses to be owned, defined, or controlled by anyone or anything, and who wants to know what it feels like to be loved. As a result of making difficult choices and struggling immensely, she eventually finds a way to make the most out of her situation and survive harsh conditions. While she endures, she also lives – free of charge, even if it isn’t always truthful.

It is simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming to watch this love story play out. Here is a story about love, compassion, hardship, cunning deception, and a heart. I urge you to read it. In Addie’s words, she wanted a life that she had complete control over, a life in which she had the freedom to do whatever she liked. Considering her time of birth, Addie was expected to live her life in a certain manner, and what others wanted for her life wasn’t what she imagined.

Consequently, I think we (including myself) can relate to Addie’s dream of venturing out on her own and making her own choices of what she wants. The way Addie ended up getting her “wish” had some major disadvantages, despite her determination. It’s no secret that Addie somehow ended up immortal, as she possessed the ability to live forever. Having lived through a variety of decades and centuries, Addie saw and experienced so much, but despite her long life, she failed to leave an impression on anyone.

Aside from being unable to physically leave her mark on the world, Addie was also unable to form meaningful, lasting connections with others, and so the way Addie’s curse worked was quite fascinating as well as heartbreaking. When Henry was introduced, the story took a turn since he was able to remember Addie! As soon as Henry met Addie, I was drawn to him not just because he resembled the stranger Addie had always envisioned as her ideal man, but also because of the way that Henry behaved around Addie and others.

Every chapter brought new discoveries and twists that I hadn’t imagined, as the story continued to grow and develop. The stories of Henry and Addie were both heartbreaking and fascinating. Towards the end of the book, I was sobbing and definitely suffering from an emotional hangover. My understanding of the story was thrown off by new details that surprised me just when I thought I knew what was happening. This story ended on a bittersweet note, which again made me cry a lot, but it was a beautiful story, and in some ways, I was pleased with what ended up happening to Henry and Addie. Definitely, a book that recommends everyone to read.
