I have always been the biggest fan of Indian mythology and it’s where my reading journey got its greatest inspiration from. When I picked up this book, the first thought that came to my mind was Why the title Meghnad? It could be Indrajeet too. & This name has more power & impact on it than that of Meghnad. So why not Indrajeet? Well, I got the answer after reading the epilogue.
The book also touches on the love life of Meghnad which cannot be ignored too. He falls in love with Prameela, the naga princess, and she has a major role to play in the story. The scientific and technical knowledge of Meghnad makes the book more gasping and entertaining at the same time. The writing style is lucid and even though there’s constant change in the narration of the story, it is crisp and clear without a tinge of confusion. The language used is again easy with almost simple usage of vocabulary.
The cover and title look apt and appealing. But the trailer is what actually attracted me the most. Now as far as genre is considered, I’d like to consider it as more fantasy and less mythology.
The author has shown his commendable sense of imagination through these. Various emotions were crisply portrayed through the dialogues and descriptions. The last chapter would tug at the heart’s strings and might even move the reader to tears. Highly recommended to anyone looking for either mythological fiction or just something different to read.
